the town of fairplay is a historic town and was founded in 1859 as a gold mining settlement. fairplay is located in park county at an elevation of 9,953 feet (3,034 m). while fairplay is known as the trout fishing capital of colorado, there is not a shortage of things to do and see within a short drive. fairplay is a 2-hour drive from denver international airport.
nearby towns of south park and alma are wonderful gems to visit while at the elf haus. the mountain town of breckenridge is approximately 20 miles from the property.
